The FIFA World Cup begins in South Africa with the hosts taking on Mexico in the opening encounter at the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg on Friday.
World cup opening ceremony was officially started by South African President Jacob Zuma and FIFA World President Sepp Blatter. Sepp Blatter said he is very happy to be in South Africa, and said soccer is all about connecting people.
